Tyndale was founded in 1967 and originally traded from Tyndale Terrace in Camden Town London. The business was a typical labour only carpet fitting organisation and continued in this manner until the mid 1970’s when it was acquired by Derry Treanor Ltd (DTL), a contract carpet company in Hampstead, London.
The two companies traded separately, although Tyndale did carry out some of the installation work for DTL and by the early 1980’s the business was offering supply as well as the installation of flooring. However, DTL and Tyndale began to move apart and in 1990 they completely separated.

During the 1990’s the business developed rapidly:

• 1991 - Tyndale Projects, Knutsford (Manchester) was formed, as was Tyndale Solutions - an office furniture provider with a Steelcase dealership.
• 1993 - Bryson Carpets in Kirkcaldy, Scotland (Edinburgh) was purchased by the Group.
• 1995 - Tyndale Maintenance was formed - a cleaning and maintenance business.

Come the new Millenium, a new period of change and even more rapid growth began:

• 2000 - Tyndale moved the London Head Office to Beckton in East London.
• 2001 - Tyndale Solutions and Tyndale Maintenance were sold.
• 2001 - Tyndale Midlands was opened
• 2005 - Tyndale Specialist Flooring was set up within the Knutsford Branch
• 2006 - Tyndale Projects Leeds was formed.
• 2008 - Dedicated Raised Access Flooring Division established within the Midlands Branch
• 2009 - Tyndale North East opened in Gateshead

The name change from Tyndale Carpets to Tyndale Flooring took place in 2006 to encompass and reflect the multitude of different types of flooring projects we now undertake. In particular, to emphasise the ability of the Group to install the total floor zone, taking responsibility for the substrate, raised access panels and final flooring finish.

The Group has particular experience and expertise in the large commercial and health care sectors and has successfully completed many major government projects, including PFI Hospitals and BSF educational schemes.

We are also active and well respected in the Hotel and Residential Development sectors.
